Ingredients:

½ cup of nonfat Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon moringa powder
½ banana, chopped
2 strawberries, chopped

1 ziploc bag for piping
1-2 small mason jars

Directions:

1. Combine the yogurt, moringa powder and Truvia Natural Sweetener.
2. Cut a tip of the ziploc bag for ½ inch. Scoop the yogurt mixture into the ziploc.
3. Pipe the yogurt mixture into a glass or a mason jar. Depending on the jar’s diameter and depth, ensure that you pipe enough mixture to cover the entire jar’s bottom and the mixture is about 1 inch thick or more so that the fruits don’t sink in.
4. Carefully assemble the fruits to your liking.
5. Sprinkle with moringa powder on top.

Fast forward years later in California, I still remember what my elderly taught me. With the rainy season in the Bay Area and water that always flows out of the faucet, taking water for granted is easy. However, the US government weather forecaster sees drought likely returning to parts of California this year, so it is high time that we instill in our lives how to conserve water on a daily basis. For this endeavor, I'm glad to be collaborating with the California Water Service and North American Association for Environmental Education on a free program, the Cal Water H2O Challenge, that would teach kids how to care for H20. The students of participating classrooms initiate, develop, and implement a 4 to 8 week-long project (or longer at teacher discretion), focusing on caring for water. This class-based project explores water as a global resource and as a local resource, while tackling a local water problem in an individual and community-based goal.
