My first professional gig

Yes, I found someone who would actually hire me as their food photographer and use all my photos on their patisserie's marketing materials- website, window display, menu, etc.

After all that learning of valuation issues, leverage, innovation, cat bounce, whatever buzz words MBA professors use, I have decided that I should still continue what I love to do or else I go crazy with the corporate rat race- (1) eating and (2) taking photos. I got my first ever point-and-shoot camera when I was 5 years old and haven't stopped taking photos ever since.

gastronomypix blog is a collection of my professional food photos (and the stories behind them), including some mishaps, as well as my travel food photos ranging from the Himalayas to Vienna's original sachertorte. Oh yes, if you like my photos that much and have a restaurant/cafe/food magazine/food ad, my photography services are for hire.

About the header image: this is Gabe's bombe cupcake (note: the spelling is correct). One can indulge in chocolate cupcake topped with espresso ice cream and covered with marshmallow. Before it is served, the marshmallow is torched to get the right burnt color. 'Bombe' is an ice cream dessert frozen in a spherical mould (wikipedia). Gabe is the name of the cafe owners' first baby (the boy in red in the pic).
