Event: Good Food Awards 2013, Coffee and Chocolate

Before I get slaughtered with homework (yes, I'm going back to school again!), let me do some photo dump of the Good Food Awards. On their third year, the Good Food Award honors "recipients who push their industries towards craftsmanship and sustainability while enhancing our agricultural landscape and building strong communities" (from their website).

Let's start off with the vendors for coffee and chocolate, which everyone wants to get a sample of. I noticed that most beans come from Madagascar (chocolates) and Ethopia and Colombia (coffee). I tried my best at coffee cupping just like how I was taught by Four Barrel during my barrista training. I, for one, am more of a tea drinker and avoid drinking coffee, but with the help of my training, I learned the different tastes of coffee. Just like at Good Food, there were vendors who served bitter, strong, light or 'watered down' coffee. I was also very intrigued with the glass looking tea pot and small convection most vendors used to heat up the coffee.

Nothing really stood out for me on the chocolate tables, except for Ritual which I've already heard of. I badly needed some water before switching from dark to milk chocolates to clean my palette. But no water was in sight :(
