Food Shot 101: Point-and-Shoot

My trusty Canon Powershot S60 is about to retire due to the stress it has been through traveling with me for the past 5+ years. And during those years, it has indeed served me very well during impromptu restaurant or window shopping shoots even though it is not a DSLR. One of S60's photo below:

Now, I am scurrying the market for a new point-and-shoot- useful for more formal occasions, especially at night.  I trust Mr. David Lebovitz's choice: the Panasonic Lumix LX3 with Leica lens and has one of the best high ISO in the compact camera category. Guess what? It has a food auto setting! (You can check more about David's photo gear here.) I am so psyched!

But first, I have to figure out who wants my Canon because the Lumix doesn't come cheap. It is hovering in the $400+ range OUCH!
