On the Move @ AQ, San Francisco

I've been looking for new inspiration for the New Year. Enter AQ. This off the beaten Mission restaurant, which is not really in the Mission district, is decked impeccably well with twigs and wood. I was surprised with their high ceilings and spacious establishment considering that they are on a block where no decent restaurant is in sight. Kudos to Chef Mark Liberman and his team. I am also excited of their new, next door project, which is reported to be a "driven by fire." Your guess of what this restaurant will be is good as mine.

Since I was starving by the time brunch came, I wanted something filling and ordered the scrambled eggs with artichokes and roasted potatoes. I was a bit disappointed with the simplicity of the scramble although AQ redeemed itself with the miso brioche- a very unique take on the bread.

Chocolate dessert comes first with hazelnut.

The brioche with miso and caramelized leeks.

The grilled cheese doesn't help with clogged arteries but damn good.

And my eating buddy who devoured the chocolate dessert all by himself!
