On the Move @ Dong Juan

For the month of January, I'll be featuring all original restaurants. First off- Dong Juan.

Despite the Spanish sounding name, Dong Juan brings the bistro-Cebuano fusion feel to the city. With contemporary decor, Dong Juan offers a fusion menu of sorts from the traditional calamari, pasta, steak, chicken wing, pizza to the Filipino beef tadyang. In just one month, I visited Dong Juan twice (first at the newly opened branch at Crossroads and the second time at One Mango) to get my hands on the shrimp pasta.

If you're looking for Filipino grub, you are better off to the tried and tested Cafe Laguna or Hukad since Dong Juan would be a go-to for simple no-fuss, not pricey, tasty meals. I always support smaller, more unknown establishments.

Their only downfall- no fresh juices! I always need my fresh calamnsi juice with sugar on the side.
